persistence is definitely a property of dcc.Dropdown you can search and find it in the documentation: https://dash.plot.ly/dash-core-components/dropdown
It was only recently added in Dash 1.3.0, make sure you are on a new enough version of Dash: 📣 Dash 1.3.0 released
